For students enrolled less than half-time (less than 5 hours for graduate students and less than 6 hours for undergraduate students), only tuition/fees and books/supplies will be included in the cost of attendance.
Multiply your monthly cost by the number of months in your enrollment period. There are allowances for child care or dependent care costs if applicable. If student did not complete a FAFSA, the system defaults to on-campus.
For additional dependents, students may increase cost by $285 per month for each dependent. Families who are separated from their children may, with documentation, be funded for three trips per twelve-month period at a cost not to exceed $250 per
trip.
For a single parent or working spouse family, childcare may be funded at the actual cost, not to exceed $780/month for 1 child, $1520/month for 2 children, and $3000/month for 3 or more children. An additional $17 per week will be allowed for infant
care.
An estimated amount for tuition/fees will be included. This estimate is based on full-time enrollment. If students are enrolled less than full-time and are receiving federal financial aid, and the tuition/fee allowance in the cost of attendance is greater than the actual costs, the tuition/fee allowance will be reduced to actual cost. Tuition/fees for exception plans will only be adjusted if they are enrolled less than the budgeted time. If a student withdraws from UTMB during a term, the tuition/fees will be adjusted to reflect actual cost.
