Every April, communities across the country come together to celebrate National Public Health Week (NPHW) — a time to recognize the vital contributions of public health and highlight the issues that impact the health and well-being of everyone. For more than 25 years, the American Public Health Association (APHA) has led this national effort to inspire action, spark conversations, and drive change.
At UTMB School of Public and Population Health (SPPH), we’re proud to stand alongside APHA and others in the public health community to mark NPHW 2025. It’s a week to connect, learn, and reflect on how we can build healthier communities together.
Throughout the week, we’ll host a variety of events — from community conversations and film viewings to professional development workshops and our flagship Public Health Symposium. The week will conclude with SPPH Service Day, where we’ll give back to the community that inspires our work.
