Faculty Profile

Dr. Zhang is currently an Assistant Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She completed her undergraduate studies at Johns Hopkins University with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular & Cellular Biology and a Minor in Psychology. She subsequently attended the John A. Burns School of Medicine and later completed her Internal Medicine residency at California Pacific Medical Center. Dr. Zhang started her Fellowship with UTMB Health in the division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology in 2021 and was selected to be our Chief Fellow for her final year. During this time, she was awarded the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship Professionalism and Teamwork Award as well as the Graduate Medical Education office Fellow of the Year award.

Dr. Zhang is a member of professional organizations including the American College of Gastroenterology and American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
